Accept if you gave the number and they agreed to it. You're not countering at that point, you're just being annoying and will only leave a bad impression. I'd probably rescind the offer if I gave someone what they asked for and they now wanted more.
This. If you wanted more, you should have asked for more to begin with.
Always always always negotiate for more! There’s a book called “Never Split the Difference” that’s a great point of reference for this topic.
