How do you explain consulting to people
McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company been working here one year and received pretty positive feedback. Given the expectation for people of my tenure to transition to EM in a year or so, I can’t see myself staying due to the WLB as an EM. I’m 35 and have 2 young kids. Can it even be realistically done? Would love to stay but I don’t see a balance which would keep my family happy. What options do I have from there?

Get the Maui Revealed book on your phone (app) best book there is by locals. Will cover everything. Take the drive thru the clouds to the top of Haleakala and watch the sunrise or sunset. Eat on the way back at the single hotel. Do the road to Hana. Check out all the different resorts. Go to one of the other islands...there is just so much to do and enjoy.

I love the big Island for snorkeling and if you spend the night there you can do the night Ray snorkels...10 feet rays 5 inches from your face. Make sure you take a water proof camera from here (you don't want to drop your phone in the water :)) if you want pictures. Disposables aren't as good. Also recommend driving up to the top of the mountain on the big Island which will take you up above the clouds to the telescope stations. Other options on the big island. The volcanoe park which is very pretty but you don't get very close to the lava ( you may see the reddish glow at night though). The southern most part of the island which has trees bent to one side cause of the wind and is amazing. There is also a very pretty beach about a half mile on a lava field that will be deserted but often described as one of the prettiest beach on the islands.

Drive up to Paia and have some of them burgers, Haleakala at sunrise (careful, its balls cold up there), Eucalyptus trees (not "garden" you drive into and pay for!). Chill on the beach and swim with turtles. Front Street has some delicious food, enjoy it! It's one of my top 3 destinations to visit.
ATK 1, which other island do you suggest?
I would skip Honolulu unless you want the touristy things (bars, booze and a party).
If you need more info let me know... one of my favorite places to be at.
Wow, thanks ATK1. Good stuff. Was planning on going to Oahu later this year but now reevaluating (or would keep the Oahu trip and do Big Island next summer).
Thanks ATK1. Maui 6 days and have to go to Oahu for a wedding after, will stay at Oahu for 4 days...
I did 35 days and all 4 islands. Big island and Maui are worth it. Kauai is eh and same with Oahu. You got what you need with the first two.
If you do go to Oahu, take an early morning Uber to the diamond head crater (gates open by 6 I think). Run up the 600 feet of stairs and you will have an amazing sunrise to watch...with the sun flowing over ocean towards Honolulu....North side of the island is great for kite surfing if you are experienced (the waters rougher).... the plantations I would personally skip.but some people may enjoy those. It may be worth driving through the local area outside of the tourists spots... lots of poverty but that's the true view of the locals....of you want to party then Honolulu is the island... for more of the outdoors the other islands are better.
ATK2... if you need more, send me a burner....happy to share on Jabber.
On Oahu if you plan your flights well you can do day trips to the other islands for under 100 road trip I think. First flight out 6 am last back 8 pm. Gives you about 12 hours in one of the other islands... as ACN2 said - big island and Maui are worth itm
It.
What are some of the good hike in Maui? Haleakala?
