If you had time to better your future employment prospects in branding / design (vs advertising) - what class would you recommend taking - self led / virtual? I’m thinking in particular brand architecture, messaging, workshop development - maybe something around AI?

I’ve worked in both environments and would recommend architecture and naming as two of the most concrete, “learnable” and distinct skills to have in your belt. Aaker’s approach to architecture is highly respected (link below.) And I’d see what books naming shops like Lexicon recommend on that front. Messaging and workshop orchestration have been much easier to learn on the job in my experience

Of course! A Hundred Monkeys (naming agency) founder also wrote “Don’t Call It That” which I thought was really good - less formulaic but really smart

doing rigorous strategy. a lot of branding shops / consultancies look down on advertising strategy bc it's considered to be flimsy & not done "correctly".

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible. Got diagnosed after college & after having been fired from my first job. Passed the CPA exams on Adderall. Went off of it again. I do everything well at my job except for attention to detail within my excel files & emails. Will taking ADHD medication really fix this? Does anyone else have this issue and was it resolved by taking medication?

Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

Seeking review is now time-barred. Boss is not upset, but this is 1 case & 1 problem. There are other cases & other stories.

How do I talk to my boss about being more present (boss is never in office, has “too many” emails, never answers his phone) without being seen as insubordinate?

I'm new to marketing and I am not formally educated in it. I have just been learning through experience with the business. I'm supposed to put together a Market report for our sales team to refer to but I have been stuck on what I even include. I have an expensive subscription to a reporting database and I am supposed to translate these technical reports into 20-30 slides. I can't figure out if I am overthinking something simple or lacking some knowledge that people formally learn in school.

I’m a senior planner leading one brand and there’s a new strategist on the team working on a sister brand. They’ve been asking for every strategy deck I’ve made on that brand as an example to go by to inform the thinking/flow on the sister brand. Also because I mentioned it went well with client when they ask. All for sharing thinking w/ the team & I know we feel imposter syndrome to varying degrees, but I also feel like it’s good for planners to find their own voice/style/flow. Thoughts?
