Need to provide a point of view and leadership, mentorship, delegate and provide the vision vs more of the coverage and working independently. Need to make sure deadlines are being met and the team is a step ahead and looking at the big picture. Lots more client interface and managing relationships. Less questioning and more about solutions.

Adding to the above, You need to grow your people and simultaneously grow your clients and larger internal team. You become leadership vs hard skill strategy monkey. And sometimes that means a new place to have a fresh start

Brand strategy and planning can both include purpose, vision, personality, voice, positioning, but strategy inclides more complicated brand architecture, nomenclature, naming decision trees, user journeys and messaging strategy. Brand planning could include all of this but it is a lighter version. They both involve research. Brand planning does not seem to include any financial analysis and strategy definitely could.

What interview questions or tactics do you use to evaluate if your future boss will be a good manager? Either questions for them directly or asking the interviewing panel. As they say people leave bad managers not bad companies, and going from consulting means less opportunities to ask around and find out reputation (or end the project after a few months if they’re horrible).

Any advice for working at a PEO? I’m recently certified HR pro and wanting to transition into a HR Generalist role to build my experience and I’m having a hard time with the job search. All of my hr experience is in higher education and no other industry. I want to transition out of higher education but I’m having a hard time. I applied for a HR Specialist with Insperity and I have an interview next week? Will working at PEO help build my HR experience or is it more of a sales role?

My boss asked me what id like to do moving forward at work. The department im in has gone under many changes the past few months. I was really hoping the business would put me in a place they “need” me but instead it’s up to me…
My goal is to reach the top, climb the ladder and one day be CEO. I have a lot of outside influences that make this a possible venture.
I’m currently in sales but don’t know if the right path is to continue in.
What should I say to my boss, knowing I’m on right path?

I have 15 YOE all in health IT consulting in T2, mostly running large technology implementations for providers. I’m tired of the consulting grind and am contemplating going to industry. The easy path of an IT exec position with a typical client of mine (large health systems) does not appeal to me. I find the idea of going to more innovative companies (big tech, health tech startups, provider or payer disrupters) more appealing.

Which is the more lucrative and flexible long term career path when comparing .NET development vs salesforce development.

By flexible I mean in terms of moving between positions, companies and technologies.

I've done both and am currently doing salesforce development but don't want to get pigeonholed.

I’m currently in Compliance within Banking and Consulting just seems far more exciting to work in, even though I know it’s super tiring and hectic, I’m only 23 and I think I’d have the skin for it, i’d say I can take all sorts of feedback well. I just love that you can wear many hats in Consulting.

Probably a dumb question but idk if receiving verdicts is a much more relaxed etiquette.

Seeking advice: I have a Strategy Director who is a brilliant strategist but ho-hum people manager and is not advancing the dept from a business perspective (streamlining processes, balancing budget with strategic output, etc.). Their team isn’t happy so I risk skip levels leaving. They would really be better suited in an individual contributor role. I fear that if I make the move to IC, they’ll leave as they see opp for advancement as connected to team mgmt. Past coaching hasn’t “clicked.”
