I'd pick motion graphics. Movement is how brands will be fighting scroll fatigue, and expertise in that should be a marketable skill for the foreseeable future. Having designs that move gives you an edge.
Motion for sure. Maybe blending business acumen with data analysis as the role becomes more blended/lines become more blurred in role.
I'd go UX/UI. Very relevant to the tech world, which means it's got staying power and some degree of stability. I'm steering clear of AI-assisted design. Partly out of aversion to everything AI, partly because I feel employers will look down their noses at any designer who references AI in their resume.
You need to have AI knowledge. That’s job security.
ai. I haven’t been designing, prototyping, writing requirement or user story for 6 months now. ai is coming and it came to stay. You got to get in on it. Within a few years, only 50% of us will left in the field. Don’t be the half that doesn’t.
You’re right. Looked at the question again and kind of dismissed AI-assisted because it’s almost a given. To your point, then I’d change my answer to designing for agentic AI experiences.
