I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...

I had the weirdest dream. Criminals were put in a gated community under observation and they had to successfully fake their own death to get out. They were given too many drugs and alcohol. But they end up killing each other or suiciding and no one is left. Once everyone kills themselves they bring in new inmates. It was insane.

The idea was that I would be involved in Fieldwork and take over reporting part. Issue is that I just despise the way this other Director is working. Looking for advice. My wife and I moved into a nice 4 bedroom. I would like to have one room for my office (fully remote consultant). We don’t have kids yet. She wants 3 kids and all 3 have their own room. I want 2 and would like if they are the same gender to share a room. (Atleast before teenagers). I grew up sharing a room and it was great. So did her dad and uncle. Obviously I think we shouldn’t be discussing this until it’s relevant when we have kids but she won’t drop it.

My VP asked my fellow team member to take on a task simply because of her race to help them land a grant renewal. We’re both women of color but since I didn’t match the target audience I was not asked even though the task is on a project I am overseeing. We’re both offended with how this was handled by the VP, are we overreacting?
