If your boss asked how they can better improve your otherwise cordial working relationship (aside from a few uncomfortable interactions) would you be honest and tell them you would prefer they not speak down to you?

If the goal was to make things worse

likefunny

Nah. It won’t make things better.

helpful

I confronted a boss once about how I was spoken to disrespectfully and it didn’t go well for me. I think the only way to really fight against it is as it’s happening you can stand up for yourself in subtle ways such as saying things like “let’s just focus on the task at hand” or other little things you can say to indicate you don’t like the tone or messaging.

A direct confrontation will put the manager on the defensive and will also likely backfire. No one ever sees themself as the problem no matter what you say that won’t change.

Hi Friends,

I am in discussion with MNC Service based organization based out of Sweden and wanted to know the salary I can expect. Although they have dropped a hint of around 45000 SEK per month.

There is almost nowhere to find reliable bonus information on Canadian firms. I’ve heard of year end bonuses ranging from 10-50% this year (not including Covid bonuses). Let’s start a thread posting year of call, rough billable hours worked and bonus as a percent of salary.

5 year call. 1850 hours. 10%.

Is 20 LPA good CTC in Kone India with total experience of 8.5 years in SAC ?

I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Any thoughts or advice going into this?
