I am currently interviewing at TikTok for the Content Partnerships Lead role. Can anyone share some insight into the salary bands in the Sub-Saharan African market? Should I benchmark with the global rates?
Any tips and experiences interviewing in this region are also welcome - and highly appreciated! :)

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

You just do it. Plot and plan what you want. Provide evidence of growth, contribution, and if brave enough, your market value.
Try to anticipate the resistance points.
What you need to do is formulate your strategy. Jot down things you've done successfully in the last year, and be able to put together a pitch for yourself. You want to show how you bring value to the organization. And an important component is to also weave in the idea that you've gotten better at your job and you're not the same employee you were a year or two ago, when your current salary was determined. If you come up with solid material you'll be confident and you'll overcome your shyness.
Use market analysis to justify your ask.
If you have no leverage, the answer is no.
