Dip as soon as you can if you hate it life is short
I was in your position once. I should have left sooner. I didn't because i had a short stint from another company before jumping to the mismatched company at that time. I also thought I could make it work. I was wrong. So assuming you haven't changed jobs too frequently on your resume, start looking ASAP.
Is there a previous company that you liked enough that you can boomerang back to? Might be worth consideration if you have trouble finding a new job so soon after joining your current employer.
I was lucky, I had a great relationship with a former public accounting senior manager who hired me to work for them again in industry.
when you know, you know
Yes. The only regrets I have are staying too long because I thought I could change other people. I’m in a horrible place now because I’ve stayed too long at my current place and about to go on disability for mental health reasons. Find your people/place, don’t try to make it yours. Your happiness/needs/content/wellbeing [fill in your words of choice, except greed, I’d beg you] are worth it.
I left within 4 months. Best decision I ever made. Got a 30% raise and a better job. Been here for 2.5 years. I had the same thought process. Better to leave early before people are really counting on me.
Absolutely!
