Everyone wants pay transparency until they’re the ones wanting to protect their number.
That checks out. Pay for new positions rises with inflation; pay for existing employees does not. In a year, there will be a new hire who gets paid more than you as your salary stagnates. It’s why people company hop — to bring their salary back up to market rate.
One thing to note about this: it tells me that your company has a sloppy org structure or c-suite. Your direct manager and the org lead should have full visibility into your peer’s salary (your direct manager) and the full org (your executive lead) so at least above you there isn’t resentment.
It also signals (true or not) that your comp and operations teams are green or weak. Others should have been leveled before you came in or simultaneously be having conversations about their level as you onboard. Those pay increases should have been budgeted already.
I like to think I’m wrong in these situations but your company sounds criminally mismanaged especially if there is pay transparency.
Pay transparency that specific can causes issues. Pay should be based on performance and higher performers should get more pay. I make more than my counterparts because I add more value and so I am worth more to the company. This isn’t socialism, and everyone at the same title should not make the same amount of money.

Technically that would mean it isn't communism.
Honestly, that’s normal! The fastest way to income climb is by landing new jobs. Especially, since raises and bonuses aren’t guaranteed. Also, sometimes the marketing or hiring budget has a higher band. Depending on what quarter you’re hired in. The opposite is true as well. Overly low salaries from the prior years.
