I'm a claims counsel but our IT person keeps calling me an adjuster and says my title shouldn't be on our letterhead. I don't want to make a big deal about it but claims get elevated to me when they get complicated or require a heavier legal lift. Advice? I told him I'd manually add my title and he begrudgingly said he'd look into it. I mean - I have a law degree and most of the adjusters in my section don't... and my title is not adjuster...

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.
