I'm a newbie in real estate, and I'm trying to figure out how to create awesome Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts to showcase my listings and open houses. My current video editing skills are pretty much non-existent, though, and I can't afford social media assistance yet. People in my office are using Canva, so I might try that. Any recommendations for other user-friendly editing apps or programs?

I started with Canva too, but CapCut is my current fave. It’s free, it’s intuitive, and there are tons of YouTube tutorials to help you get the hang of it fast.

If you are in need of a professional certified Video editor! i help brands turn content into high retention videos that bring more views and engagement. I noticed a few improvements you can make want me to show you?

I hate to be basic, but Canva is all you really need. It's simple and easy to use, but an absolute powerhouse. You can do videos and images. There are other options out there but I said keep it simple and just stick with Canva.

Canva is great for static posts. I'm not sure how good it would be for video editing. I've used CapCut and Mojo to create reels before and thought each were great for my needs. They're super intuitive and have a lot of ready-made templates that make it easy to churn out content in next to no time.

As a general rule, keep it simple. Your business is real estate, not filmmaking, and you don't want to get pulled down a rabbit hole. Canva is a good place to start, just practice assembling simple videos. What's important is to think about how your material will be consumed, and if you think it'll be on phones, shoot vertically. And pay a lot of attention to the lighting, if you have footage that just looks good that will work no matter how clunky the editing may be.

As realtors, our worst and best friend are the contractors, being friends with the contractor that remodelled a home you are going to sell is a plus because you can know for sure what kind of improvements were made to the house and why; and what kind of things are pending to be improved, that way you can provide real information to the client. You know what they say: a happy client always comes back to you.
