I’m a senior associate at a mid-sized firm, but I don’t see myself making manager because I don’t want to live and breathe public accounting forever. What are some exit options that won’t make me feel like I wasted my CPA license? Anyone moved into FP&A or consulting? How was the transition?

I think there are lots of opportunities with CPA. I’m in tax and I got an offer for a Senior FA role. I’ll do tax and financial analysis at the same time. Moreover, there will be no more busy season or overtime. I will have much more time for myself and family.

I would like some advice here. I currently work as an HRBP for a large company and have been with this company for over 2 years. The current company culture is not great, and I’ve been looking for outside opportunities.
I was offered a role at a smaller company that just announced it is being acquired by a large company, however they agreed that they will be operating independently.
Would it be incredibly stupid to start a new HR job at a company currently going through an acquisition?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Question, if you pay off your house isn’t a 100k salary more than enough to sustain a good lifestyle? My goal has always been to payoff my mortgage then find a really easy analyst role to sustain my expenses. Assuming I’m a director/VP by the time my mortgage is paid off I’d probably be able to do an analyst 40hr week in like 10hrs. Esp at some of these low expectation companies. What do y’all think about this plan?

Although I have neglected my morning practice this week, I'm practicing self compassion with positive self talk.
