We're dealing with the same situation up here in Washington. We've done a couple of things. We either print out physical copies or provide thumb drives with the materials (documents, readings, videos) loaded on them. We also opened up a password free WiFi access point, so students that can be driven to the school or that can walk can safely connect to the internet long enough to at least download material to their device. Other schools in the area have also started looking into cellular hotspots.
Don’t all student get wifi at school? I don’t understand the point of password free wifi.
Verizon Wireless stepped in and provided about 20 Hotspot devices for families in my system. You might check in to that
Printing copies of lessons for them to pick up in the office. This is difficult when you’re trying to convert an online lesson to paper. Doesn’t always translate. Like how do you teach Google Sheets on paper? 🤔
My district has printed packets for each grade level and they are easily accessible in bins outside the district office. Parents just drive up, pluck out their packet, and go.
During Covid we gave a dozen of hot spots. With the government program about low income families eligible for very reduced wifi, we no longer have a need for them
