I’m a Veterinary Practice Manager. I’ve been at the same practice for over 16 years. Couple years ago we sold to corporate and has been nothing but a negative experience. They are all about revenue. It has been so challenging and overwhelming for myself and the team. The corporation doesn’t seem to care that much . I want to walk away but it’s so hard . I feel bad for my team who I care so much about. I’ve looked for another job and have had no luck . I live in a very small town. Corporate sucks

Same here. It's sad because I can't make a decision just for myself because I feel sorry for those people who have been with me for so many years and who are enduring the same.

My boss has also told me he pretty much has the same dilemma. We are making ends meet as it is, but he just can't bring to stop the operation because a lot of our employees depend on him. It is so hard right now.

As a licensed tech who has worked for both private and corporate it all sucks. We are drastically under paid and under appreciated part of the staff. We have more responsibility than a human nurse and are paid a fraction as much. I have been abused in both corporate and private systems. So I honestly cannot back either own up as better than the other…

I am so sorry this happened to you. I am sure your team will understand your decision if you even choose to find another job. You got this!

It really does. That's why I went back to private practice. I am so sorry this happened to you guys.

I feel like we are heading the same way. I mean the owner is planning to sell our clinic. I am not really sure what will happen to us. Hang in there, OP.

Do what’s best for you. Warmth to you.

Hi guys 👋🏻
So I joined IBM 5 months back, was on bench for this long and got project just a week back.

My PSP and People Manager have been kind of lenient, cooperative and kind to me because I was never told I will be put in PIP, I have to enter project not matching my skillset etc etc.

Is it wise to appreciate both of them via blue points for their support?

I just got a mail saying I have 200 bluepoints to send out appreciations if I feel like.

What is one of the most frustrating parts of being a scientist or researcher?

I'll tell you what it is: referencing!

You have to do so much of it, and it's so annoying. You have to cite your sources, but there are so many different formats for citations! And then sometimes you don't even know how to cite something, and how are you supposed to know that unless you ask someone who knows? And even then, they might not be sure whether it should be an in-text citation or a footnote…

I’m a very experienced veterinary assistant who has been doing this job for about 4 years in total however because of my skill level I would say I am more of an unlicensed technician. I’m looking for input on what I should ask for a raise. Given the minimum wage, I make about $5 over but that hasn’t really changed to match inflation of living, etc and truly feel like I should be making a decent amount more given my skills. Any helpful advice?

I need help. I think I’m being underpaid at my job I’ve been at for 3 1/2 years. I’m a full time receptionist for a veterinary hospital but I also manage the reception area (I answer all questions and if someone makes a mistake I’m the one the fix it) and am an in house trained veterinary assistant but can do a techs job (unlicensed) and I do help the technicians out anytime they need and I’m only getting paid $13 an hour while a crew member at arbys gets paid $15 . What should I do ?
