I’m about 7 years into PR/Comms and am really dealing with a “mid life” crisis. I have no idea if this is what I even want to do anymore, but it feels like the time has passed to try something new and take an entry level role. No doubt that agency life has taken its toll on me, but the last few years I’ve really questioned if this is sustainable for me. Has anyone successfully switched to a different kind of work (can be comms adjacent) after a number of years in the field?

How is SAP projects in IBM?

It feels like my pay and title are lower than my scope of duties. Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition.
