I’m an MBA who just interned at one of the MBBs this summer. Overall great experience, but questioning if the WLB sacrifice is worth it compared to tech for example. The location I’m at though, MBB beats almost every other job except IB for comp in the first two years out of B-school. The sign-on bonus will tie me in for 2 years.

Thoughts? I’ve never been insecure professionally, but fear that I’ll end up alone in life (late 20s, gay guy here, for context) if I work too much.

I joined a new consulting firm and have been here for 6 months. Recently, a SaaS client (1k employees) that hired my old consulting firm reached out to me about a job opening - Lead BA working primarily to implement their benefit admin system for insurance companies. I just received a verbal offer as a program manager at vp level from a US BB in London. Unfortunately the number was a round down of my current pay. I’m currently a business manager in banking and thinking to move to the program manager role as a step towards more broader opportunities in the future (COO, consulting type of roles).
