I had told them that I was in the final rounds with other companies but Google was my first preference, they expedited my interview process.
How would they ever know if you get the offer or not, if you don’t volunteer the information?
Yes, tell them and they should try and speed your process up. No guarantees.
I told G I had other final rounds and they still didn't speed things up.
Depending on how interested they are in you , they may speed things up. Like for me , I had another FAANG offer and when I told them, my final interview , HC+ offer came back within 1.5 weeks.
They may be able to move conversations along if you have an offer. “may” - this depends on where you’re at in the total process and how well you’ve performed during interviews
I’ll clarify- “speeding things up” can mean MANY things depending on where you are in the process, how important the role is to be filled, how many other candidates there are (and where THEY are in the process), how much they like you etc.
There are also a ton of factors the recruiters can’t control: if you need interviews scheduled, interviewers availability, how long your interviewers take to write and submit feedback, Hiring Committees meeting cadence, how many people are in HC queue, etc.
So - “speeding up” is incredibly dependent on the current step and other people.
I’d only mention anything if you have offers that will expire. And try to get something in writing at that, which can be informal.
