Figure out what the salary range for the job should be. If you are at the high end at 90k, you’ll probably have a hard time meeting it. There is the concern, too, that 70k is lowball, and it should be more. Remote is worth money to me, not sure about it being worth 20k though.

Agree with this approach!
If I were in your position, I would make it clear to them that you were looking for $100,000 plus to make a move from your current position. However, that you can appreciate the fact that there are benefits that come along with working 100% remote, and for that reason you would be willing to make a lateral move financially at 90 K. They will either agree to meet you at 90k, offer to meet you halfway at 80k, or simply say no 70k is the cap. At which point, you need to decide if you can afford to make that move.
If the role is 100% remote, why move? I would negotiate not moving or going to a cheaper place to make $70k considerable.
I personally don’t think remote jobs should pay less just because you are saving a few dollars, Remember the company is saving some money too and i would examine the market salary range from a few resources for your position and leverage that for a comprised salary. It takes a lot of time to make up $20k.
Highly unusual for a negotation to move 30% up. Wouldn't expect it. 10%, maybe.
I wouldn’t move for less than 15% increase and more benefits.
Good luck. That will be tough to negotiate to close the gap. Probably let them know you are already making $90k and if they can offer close to it
or even a bit of a split where you ask for a 15% raise and some additional stock if that's an option....
The last five years have been a security guard doing different tasks, different situations, securing different places basically looking for a little bit more money than $12 an hour. I wouldn’t mind going to Asheville with a relocate whatever the security guard job needs to do more.

Hmm 20k is a big gap and you might risk burning a bridge if you ask for that much of a jump. I would maybe pick a more reasonable figure such as 10k and see if they budge.
