Might depend which I guess, but I made the switch and have 0 regrets. A few in my group have done a similar move, and I think everyone has been happy they did

Typically, the work is different—more deal work, less court time. If that sounds good, go for it.
OC1 is correct. Generally the Chambers ranked groups do full-service employment but usually more class actions/employee mobility and less run of the mill single plaintiff. If its a really small practice group then the odds are much higher youre in a specialist role doing deal work.
It depends what you're looking for. If it's GDC/ML/Proskauer etc., and you're entering as a lateral, it's very very unlikely you will ever make partner. You'd need to be extremely lucky and working for the right people. If you're looking for interesting work, smart lawyers, more money, more variety, and then an in house gig, you should take it.
