Honestly I wouldn’t risk the latter. You’re hoping it 1) becomes available and 2) isn’t extraordinarily expensive. Being stuck in economy for that long would be rough depending on who you are. I’ve found myself always comfortable enough in eco comfort/eco plus
Get the leg room
Yea, I read Emirates is no too bad in economy though I am tall so will appreciate the extra space. I also just want to fly on an A380 haha but I’ll probably go with Singapore at the end of the day.
It’s Economy - you’re not missing out on anything regardless of airline (all have cut leg room and catering quality including the good airlines like Singapore, ANA, Emirates, etc)
It’s still a 3-4-3 configuration with 32” legroom with meh airplane food - for comparison American on the A321 has 31” legroom and JetBlue and Southwest offer 32”. The catering will still not compare to a decent lounge or business/first.
Lol I mean I guess it’s technically a layover…18 hours later from JFK-SIN. I’d go with Singapore airlines
