This is an exciting field and I wish you all the best!. My coworker recently branched out into this field and he started by getting an understanding of sustainability requirements through ISO 14001. From there, he volunteered for our sustainability committee and when the company decided to push into sustainability as part of the global push, his passion was recognized and they took him on as the first sustainability engineer for my company

Contd. (my original post seems to be cut short)

I am considering sustainability reporting due to my existing experience that I could bring to a role. I spend time trying to identify thought leaders, stay updated with new developments (mostly through LinkedIn and Googling for updates) but I find the volume of information and conflicting opinions (especially around sustainability reporting) leaves me overwhelmed.

Would anyone be happy to share key thought leaders they would recommend to follow, key resources to consult or any tips they would have for breaking in to this field?

Thanks in advance

I am currently a year from finishing my PhD and was looking at VC's as a career path because I like to do meta-analysis of different climate change techs. I networked with VCs and one of them was receptive but didn't have the budget currently for a full time hire. They said they'd be interested in working with me to do a research paper over the coming semester, and was wondering if I could leverage this into a full time offer?

Is a white paper with a VC going to be attractive on my CV?

I am currently working as a delivery manager for a data science project where I manage both ML and DE teams. I am not sure what career path should I follow.

Should I move into either a core technical data science/data engineering role or move into a techno-managerial role like a program or project manager? What role would be best in terms of money, growth, and job security?

In case of the latter can you guys suggest lucrative technologies which has little/no coding and can definitely give good packages? I've tried changing jobs in Basis for nearly one year and didn't get through. Please help me.

I started a company just under 1 year ago. We sell a product via ecom channels and have done ~100K in revenue with a 60% gross margin.

The first 6 months I was working a full time job. I quit my job to focus on the business full time, and have since depleted my readily available capital. I’m bootstrapping the business with my own funds. I was recently offered a job in my old industry for 80K per year. I was previously making 62K.

Should I take the job?

Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. Do you get the feeling that there is a higher image promotion of women/minority people in Tech?I have seen way to many pictures from major tech companies that promote far more women/minorities than white males in their marketing materials.Wouldn't be better if we hired the best people no matter what the race/gender is?I know some companies are not publishing any gender/race stats but you cant't really demand a 50/50 ratio. Also there is no coincidence that most execs is some companies are British. So this goes both ways.

Feeling like I’ve been “bait-and-switched”…

I’ve been interviewing at an agency with the intention of filling a Director role. Recruitment reached out soon after my last meet-and-greet interview (about 6 to 7 people total) to tell me the team thinks I would be best suited for an Associate Director role with a fast follow of a Director promotion.

Recruitment can’t tell me what feedback is creating this gap but also won’t stop mentioning the positive praise and feedback the team had for me.
