I’m interested in pursuing a career in photography, but I’m unsure where to begin. I have a profiles on two different photography websites, but I haven’t had much success with them so far. I was thinking that putting together a portfolio, both in print and digitally, might be a good starting point, but I’m not sure. Do you have any suggestions on where I should star

There are many options in a photography career. The best way to break in is to contact a company and see if they need headshots. I've been doing headshots for years. It's not as easy as it sounds. You will need proper lighting, and a good camera. You will also need a backdrop (Westcott has a good selection) and some strobe lighting. You will need to have a good personality and be able to speak with the people getting there headshots. A posing stool is necessary. You will also need to be very good at photo retouching. Hiring a hair and makeup artist is very important. It also make's much easier to do the retouching.
You can charge $75 per headshot or more.

My name is Dan Komoda, I'm a professional photographer and photo retoucher. (www.eyesquid.photo).

Visiting New York next week and have a reservation at the sushi counter for lunch at Nakasawa. How rude will it be if I started working at the counter? I’m doing everything in my power to close a deal the day before but it ain’t looking good…
Normally, I wouldn’t have issues working in a restaurant, but I feel like in this setting it may be really disrespectful the chef.
And yes, I only want to eat at the sushi counter for a full omakase experience.
