A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

I am currently working at Meta as a Recruiting Coordinator under contract. That contract will soon come to term in July. There hasn’t been any talks about extending my contract, so I am getting very nervous about potentially being out of work in July. I am a first gen corporate worker, and I have about 5 years of experience in recruitment. In the last two year I’ve gotten more and more into alcohol free beer. The selection in my country (Europe) is still small and mainly driven by the big brands (e.g. Heineken). My idea is to start my own small brewery which only produces alcohol free beer as a bit of a pendant to the booming local craft beer industry. Any thoughts on that idea or someone who has experience in the market?

Men who can both be right and sit tight are uncommon, it is only after a stock operator grasps this that one can make the big money.

Hello, I have been with the same company for 17 years. I am a supervisor for a laboratory in patient services. I worked my way up and currently have no degrees. Has anyone been able to work their way up in a company and then find a similar job with another company? I’m nervous that I’m stuck based on the fact that I don’t have a degree.

Email stated to reach out to another recruiter for immediate assistance so I did. I emailed her , she said these offers do take some days because of the Hr and HM has to sign it. I just came here to vent. Had an interview, I thought it went great. At the end of the interview hiring managers said and I quote “ you set the bar real high” today I received a thank you but no thank you email.

I have worked in multiple environments including hospital based outpatient sports ortho and acute care. I am about to finish up my MBA with a focus on healthcare administration, and am worried that my current place of work may not have a place for me to grow into. I’m an application analyst in the midwest for a small CAH. I was hired into this position at $27.15/hr and have now worked here for a year. I’m curious how my salary compares with others working in the midwest. My primary responsibilities are systems/HIE integrations using Meditech, HL7 transfer, SQL report writing, and user administration (just to name a few).
