I’m looking for a new opportunity and I’m open to either wealth management, financial planning, hedge funds, private equity, asset management, or trading. I’m more of a hunter/closer not a gatherer. I manage $100 Million in assets, but my book is mostly NOT portable. I’m a CFP, ChFC, hold the Series 7, 65, and Life insurance licenses. I have 12 years experience in wealth management and I’m finishing up my MBA soon with a concentration in Mergers & Acquisitions. 3.6 GPA from top 50 university.

How does one go about a resignation mid-leave when you would start the new job before the leave ends? Two weeks notice or just say I am not returning effective the day of the new job? I'm an Indian holding bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from India and master of international marketing degree from a United States. Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
