I'm middle aged and feeling kind of anchorless. I've typically worked for very small companies (50 or less) and done microproject work for the last 4 years. Frankly, there's not enough money and it puts me in the sweet spot over being over or under qualified for project mngmt work. I'm considering pivoting to the finance sector (interested in hedge fund management maybe?) but have no idea where to start with only an associates degree in business with a 3.14 gpa and no experience.

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult.
