They may not have many international routes on their metal, but Alaska is phenomenal for international redemptions. Their points have great value, one way awards include a stopover and they have a wide range of partners
You can also redeem on American Airlines and earn on AA if the ticket is bought under an Alaska codeshare. Sadly gone are the days where Alaska status gave you status benefits on American and Delta and you could earn Alaska miles for all flights taken on AA and DL
I moved to Seattle and use Alaska, once you get status with them you’re golden. They treat their frequent travelers very well
I live in Seattle and am delta. Wish I was Alaska though... Alaska is a much better airline
Alaska mileage plan is the best. They give out miles based on distance flown, MVP status starts at 20k miles and they have good partner award redemption partners. Also, if you ever fly to India for the firm, you can take British Airways and the business class bonus gets you MVP Gold just from the round trip.
I live in Seattle and love Alaska! I’ve used points to fly internationally many times. Back from Rio (American), to Amsterdam (Icelandair I believe), to Bangkok (Hainan - 30k miles ONLY!!!), Dubai (Emirates), etc. Also I constantly get upgraded on my alaska flights, I assume bc not as many business travelers as a Delta, United, etc. I don’t want people to discover the secret 🙂
Alaska. Hands down
Alaska seems better regionally but is pretty lame internationally. Delta has sky team network but fewer flights than Alaska
