I agree, the best thing is for everyone to keep what they get. That way you are completely sure of what you should receive.
It's sad but some places are just terrible to work at. If this is a local place and you already talked to your manager you might be out of luck
This is just the way it goes sometimes, if your manager won't do something basic to ensure people are being treated fairly I can pretty much guarantee this is only one of the many unfair things you'll have to deal with
Sure sounds like the type of place you'd want to get out of ASAP, there are plenty of jobs out there where your manager and coworkers will respect you
Keep your tips as well then. If they don't want to follow the rules and your manager isn't going to do something, then keep all your tips to yourself
Usually managers only do something about those things when they see the pool empty or the big boss complains about it. Like they usually don't get any of that money they just don't care whether or not they are distributing it equitably
It happens. They feel they are the ones directly working with the customer therefor the tips are entirely their own. If the manager doesn't care, there probably isn't much you can do except job hunt elsewhere.
