A higher percentage of your fees. Not sure of your current arrangement, but that is typically what I request.
I'm the same as attorney 3, 7 going on 8 years, 95k, 3%, all prelit, caseload of about 250-275 cases
What state? 8 years, $25M, low 100s… let’s talk!
California
Low 100s for an 8 yr experienced PI attorney is extremely low, esp if you’re in the LA market. Hopefully you get a substantial increase, I wouldnt disclose prior salary to recruiters but target 165k and up.
I feel underpaid in the market but then I read this.
8th year, 175K, discretionary bonus, and 5 points on my cases.
Ah ok, that’s a nice firm!!
Sorry *an 8yr lawyer
Where do you go to find "Of Counsel" opportunities ?
I used to work at the firm as an associate, left on good terms and went back as of counsel, but a lot of firms seem to have of counsels now.
You bring in 25m in fees per year? That's incredible. You should be getting between 10-15% of fees to start.
In PI, it's my philosophy that it doesn't matter how many years you've worked. You can ask for better cases or a different percentage, but if you're bringing in 25m per year in fees you should be bringing in a lot with your percentage.
No, not 25m in fees per year. 25m+ in verdicts/settlements in the last 5 years.
