I’m starting a new job as a Bartender/Server and just did my first day of training. Before this shift the manager said it would be a “training/evaluation”. Does the “evaluation” part mean that they are training other people? After the first shift he said he’d reach out to set up another shift next week. I was kinda figuring the sessions were so spread out so they could train/evaluate other servers during that time. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I think what theyWhat they are doing is training and evaluating multiple people at the same time that's why you were scheduled to come back in a week I would still keep looking and applying while you're waiting if you think the job is worth it I would reach out to whoever trained you let them know that you are eager to learn more about the position and tell them you hoped your training went well and that you're looking forward to coming back in and expanding your knowledge and say I hope to hear from you soon myself as a kitchen manager for many years interviewing hiring and training staff I always thought it was very nice when someone reached out by email or text and sent a personal message it definitely sticks in your head when you're looking for help so I hope that helps and good luck

I never heard of that before but how it sounds the evaluation is to see how you do. If they like what they see they'll put you on schedule

What are some of the best consulting firms for digital strategy roles? Looking for a change and was wondering which of the T1/T2 firms have digital practices in Canada. I have applied to ATK and McK. Should I try to negotiate a raise or look for other opportunities?

If I should negotiate, any tips?
