It’s going to take some time to let the ptsd fade away. Observe and follow the rhythm of the new place in the beginning but anxiety will still exist based on previous work traumas combined with new job anxiety. As you get acclimated things will naturally settle. Took me about 4 months.
Congrats on getting out of a toxic situation! Rather than framing it as "not bringing any work traumas" over, I'd suggest being realistic about the fact that you did experience trauma and that it will take time to process that. When you notice yourself acting from a place of trauma, pause and take a breath. Get comfortable with owning your actions and apologizing to coworkers if you react from a place of trauma when interacting with them or completing work. Acceptance allows you to work through the experience rather than wall it off and risk that wall cracking some day.
My advice is to work on the traumas in your own space and time as much as possible. That way you can bring your best self to the workspace. It’s a process of healing and sometimes you might even realize the trauma has more layers than just toxic environment of the previous workplace.
That is so hard. Honestly you have to compartmentalize.
