I'm not sure who is saying that, but I disagree. And I think the right employer will appreciate your range of skills. Just keep applying and don't let narrow-minded people discourage you.

I think it’s so wrong to say you don’t have the right type of experience for non clinical because if anything I would think clinical experience would give you the skills to pivot successfully.
I feel the same way. I’ve been in healthcare since 1989. Employers rarely seem to give people a chance. With the knowledge of bedside nursing and Heating skills it seems there should be an option for nurses who are just burned out of bedside nursing dnd want to do something different. Maybe one day someone will take a chance on us. They won’t regret it! But until then I’ll keep learning and moving forward gaining skills that are acdetremental role
Try an online MPH program to put you ahead of the pack. I have an Economics degree and an MPH in Epidemiology and 25 years of experience working with medical specialty societies, providers, and as a CMS contractor. I get tons of interviews due to my qualifications, but can’t get a job without an RN or clinical experience. Believe me when I tell you that you have a plethora of experience in how the delivery system should be reformed, and how patients are “quicker and sicker”, and nurses are put at risk due to unrealistic ratios of severely ill patients. And honestly there is nothing that I know that you couldn’t figure out. An MPH will be a pain in the butt for like two years, but I also got my MPH while working full time and it is doable. Good luck on your journey!!!
I made the transition years ago, but then still have some bedside experience with patients. Look at your resume and have someone outside of medical look at your resume to find your leadership skills, delegation of work, conflict, residue, lotion. When interviewing identify three different areas where your skills impacted out comes.
It’s about who you know. You can’t advance unless you know the right people. And the best advice I can give is never ask a boomer or Gen X for advice on this lol.
Unless you are specifically looking at a flavor of nursing you've not done before I don't understand how or why your having worked beside would be a detractor. Hospice, home health, MD offices and more definitely hire nurses with little to no bedside experience so with you possessing several years worth all I can guess is its a salary issue though a lot of non hospital based jobs offer the same pay or higher. I do know that in Georgia the job market even for healthcare has slowed WAY down so that may be part of it too. Like others have said, apply to anything/everything you are interested in. Something will shake out.
Yes. I went from clinical to administrative now they say my resume is very imprecise but they

I don't know where you live but you should try care management at Elevance in New York. They need help. You'll be working from home. I don't know their number, I worked there awhile but still talk to work friends. Try it.
I’m a Gen X and have 23 yrs experience hands on care, with residential care . My first 10 yrs . I started as a HHA. I built my reputation through the years . Met people that helped me move forward , to being a DSP Mentor . Now I’ve been a DSP and I love it . You definitely can get where you want too.
