I'm working at Wells Fargo but they have a very strict work from office policy. I received a job offer (fully remote) but they pay slightly less, (~5-10%). What should I do? If you're working remotely, do you think it's a right move for me?

Remote any day. Will save 20-30%

likeuplifting

Remote is good but why would any company offer you lesser salary
A switch should get you 20 to 30% increment
With remote option this company should have offered you atleast 10% hike

Which is that company offering fully remote?

You need to see what matters for you, a tradeoff cause you will not get everything

like

Well it depends on multiple factors - does family situation make it a requirement because at the end of day it will be monotonous for you, people do need an office environment at some point.

Secondly the profile being offered , is it much more than your existing one or the same profile. The work life balance it's a myth that working from home provides a better work life balance do not fall in the trap people are working round the clock in while working from home.

Lastly The growth in your new company will that be stagnant or does it offer better probables. Just make an informed choice.

It's not just your company every corporate is doing it while we have been accustomed to the wfh which is obviously a comfortable choice to make.

You’ll be able to save at least 10% working from home.

I think if u are doing remote jobs you can reduce lot of cost and time like transportation, accommodation, food etc.. so 5-10% less is fine
Also you can avoid lot of of travelling and wasting time

like

i would work for 20-30% less pay man, at WFH you stay away from all bulllshit and give more results in less time

If you can continue with WFO, then continue as productivity is better than remote and also you can continue with your CTCs & retirals

Weigh the pros and cons. If Wells Fargo’s strict office policy affects your well-being or family commitments, consider the remote offer. Calculate the salary difference over time. If the remote job aligns with your lifestyle and career goals, take the leap.

like

Can you share the company name that has offered you a complete remote job? I guess even the difference would have been 20%, it's a good deal.

I also have a little different perspective on this. We often don't consider emotional bargaining. Apart from money you are going to save, imagine being there with your parents in every festival, attending cousins, friends personal events without begging for leaves and in full sincerity. Go for it bro!

Remote is best.

Please read this . Being a Wells Fargo employee for the past 2 years I'll tell you how it works . They'll tell you full remote for that -5-10% . After a while they'll call you to office to work full-time with no raise (or promise to you give that 5-10% raise if it's nearing appraisa). But 5-10% adjustment will be made after eliminating your actual hike percentage.. It's just a method followed by them . Politics happen on a wide range in big organisations like these . The sooner you grasp it the sooner it's better for you . What you can do is to ask the HR give everything to you in a documented format having all these points in an email discussed by you both . Please be aware of the site that you're working in . If it's Hyderabad then fine you'll have all the CHN & BLR heads there in HYD. If your site is CHN or BLR ,.please don't take this in the wrong way , look out or choose the other options you have . They'll make you a corporate slave . Hike percentages will be like 3% -5 %. Calculate that with your offer you got now .Also show this to any wf employee and ask if they could deny these facts.

I think you didn’t got his question.

It's sad to see people with 2-3 years of experience getting paid more than you when u have double the experience. 😄 Best part is they are still complaining of getting less. Well I guess you should never settle. New gen is giving a hard time to the experienced folks. I think this is the high time to upgrade your skills. Come out of your comfort zone and start looking for new opportunities. I think this is the best time to switch if u haven't already in quite some time.

I have two job offers, one offers a salary of 61.5k and the other job offers an hourly rate of $27.65 with $41.48 for OT, as well as Sales Incentive Compensation Plan where the annual target incentive compensation is 42.86%. In other words, I could potentially receive quarterly bonuses that add up to around $24,650. However, that bonus isn’t guaranteed according to the offer letter and is contingent on my and my clients performance. Should I take the first job or second job?

I have a question, I got a contract role through a recruiter. Initially the recruiter offered the hourly pay rate which was the minimum in my range. Now I got an offer from the company. Now without me asking her she increased the hourly wage to the maximum range I asked. Which makes me doubt if the company increased it or she knew the rate all along but gave me the lower rate ?

Currently working on a three person team in a larger GC group. I lateraled from a different group that did not pay attorneys on an attorney scale. I’m stuck in my old pay scale but have gotten promotions and raises quickly with more on the horizon. A recruiter reached out with a new role for 2-2.5x more than I currently make doing something similar. I love my company and the people I work with but the money isn’t there. Is it worth trying to get a counter to stay if I get the bigger offer?

Would "odd" programming experience be considered against the AWS higher level cert requirements? Never officially been a Dev at any of my positions, but did a lot of smaller, "homegrown" projects at each, i.e. python scripts to automate certain processes.

Thinking about a pivot to AWS tech, getting the certs, just didn't want to be 'stuck' not being able to qualify for the higher level ones.
