If you come as experienced hire, make it part of the deal, otherwise they don’t start the process until you have 1 year left of max work visa. Then they make the process as long as possible and look for any way to delay the final stage of filing.
My knowledge is purely second hand, but a fellow senior on an H1B told me that he has to make it to manager before the firm would help with that.
^ this. It has more to do with the PERM process than EY requirements aka it’s easier to prove the 2 years of prior work experience when you’re about to be promoted to manager. Lawyers often play around this rules by saying that 2 years as a staff is a different job and thus it fulfills the 2 year requirement for Eb-3. So technically you can start the processes in senior 1 year. Since you’re an experienced hire I think you won’t need to worry about this requirement. I read somewhere that EY policy is 2 years with the firm + CPA though, at least in audit. But rules have exceptions, you just need someone support you like what EY3 said.
I can tell you as a campus hire, they told me they wanted to wait till manager so they can apply via the eb2 category. This was nearly a decade ago so read from that what you may.
EY has policy. You need to be a manager and at least one year with EY. If I recall correctly you also need to complete your certification (e.g., CPA).
Correction: you need to be a senior that meets the qualifications to be a manager, not manager.
