My favorite teacher was my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. James (who also was my 1st grade teacher). She was always very sweet. She also lived within walking distance of the school and there were a few times we took field trips to her house. I remember one time we made caramel apples there (one of my classmates got stung by a bumble bee).
I have a few, all Black men. First, my dad, who was my PE teacher K-6. Mr. John Mosby was my MS reading and math teacher. He was very strict and kept me motivated. In HS, Mr. Gerald Woodruff and Mr. Nickomis Johnson, kept me on the straight and narrow.
My 3rd grade teacher, Mr. Cox, and my Biological Psychology/African Centered Psychology professor, Dr. Moore.
My 8th grade teacher, Ms.Brown. She’s the reason I went into teaching.
My 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Murphy, was my favorite general education teacher. She was caring, understanding, loyal, and trustworthy. My favorite extracurricular teacher was Mrs. House. She had similar qualities to Mrs. Murphy but she fostered my enjoyment of singing.
My Kindergarten teacher Ms. Foster. When I graduated Kindergarten they filmed the " What do you want to be when you grow up" you know the usual, I remember saying at 5: I'm going to be a teacher like Mrs. Foster." When I started teaching I visited her and she gave me some guidance of what to expect. Such a wonderful teacher. Kind, strict and generous. She loved us. And we loved her back.
