In the thick of the 3-4 month sleep regression. Takes long to put baby to bed and he only naps for 45 minutes. Any tips, tricks, words of encouragement?

This is my second baby and in the same place. Having gone through it once, I shifted my mentality this time to just realize it’s normal and roll with it 🤷‍♀️ I know that’s not really a tip or trick, but letting go of the stress of feeling like it was “bad” or needed to be “fixed” was hugely impactful

M3 same here with our daughter, and she started sleeping through the night around 2.5. I guess my point is more that… we tried everything, all of the tips and tricks and training methods, etc. none of it worked. So when I say mindset shift, I don’t mean to expect baby to just grow out of it, but moreso not feel like I’m doing something wrong or missing the one “key” to getting them to sleep better. Moreso just doing what I can and keeping in mind this is all normal and all a phase im rolling through

Ugh I’m so sorry. We are just now getting past that sleep regression (I think) at 17 weeks but we had it for a solid 4 weeks. It does get better. What has helped us somewhat (but not foolproof) is SITBACK from Taking Cara Babies.

S - stop and wait a few minutes to see if baby calms back to sleep, if not…
I - increase volume on sound machine, wait 1-2 minutes to see if that helps, if not…
T - touch baby’s chest - place your hand on their chest to calm them, then wait 1-2 mins to see if it helps, if not…
B - binky, offer binky/pacifier, wait 1-2 mins to see if it helps…
A - add movement, gently rock the baby, wait 1-2 min to see if it helps, if not…
C - cuddle, take baby out of bassinet and cuddle them for 1-2 mins…if this doesn’t help….
K - k, you need to feed the baby until they fall back asleep

helpful

Have you tried the Moms on Call sleep schedules? They were incredible for my LO! Also, at 4 months, we gently sleep trained with the chair method + pick up, put down. (We sat beside the crib while baby fell asleep, picked her up when she was crying, not fussing, then put her back down once soothed.)

Let me know if you have any questions. Sleep is a moving target, but I’m happy to help troubleshoot!

I applied for a job at Visa and was contacted the same day. A few days later I had a 30-minute screening interview with the hiring manager. I knew I was very early in the process since the job had only been posted for a few days. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back, even after reaching out to the recruiter. Have I been ghosted or is there still hope? Does anyone at Visa have insights? Looks like there are a ton of jobs posted so maybe they are just backed up?

What would happen if I left my current company, started at a new one, and got pregnant before 12 months of service with the new company? For reference, I know new company requires 12 months for FMLA, and STD is 3 months.

If I’m not eligible for FMLA, what would that leave situation look like? Not currently pregnant but husband and I are wanting to start trying soon, just don’t want to be in a situation where I can’t take maternity leave. TIA!

I was waiting to negotiate my salary for next year but per company trend that doesn’t get set until January (manager reviews are written in Dec).

Last night I went over to my friends house (she has 2 kids, 2 and 4 yo). She and her husband were asking me about my pregnancy and planning. And were asking what I’ve prepped to date. I’m only 13w2 days so I think it’s way to early for buying stuff, but I did mention we hired a baby nurse for when the baby comes. My friend completely berated me, short of calling me a bad mom already, saying “what is she going to do all day? Don’t you want to bond with your child?”. I’m so upset by this.
