Paid childcare or childcare facility on premise/ nearby (that’s free or subsidized in a big way)
Yes mama! Even subsidized of your choice. Can I swap this gym reimbursement bs benefit (cause let’s be real when’s the last time I saw the inside of a gym) for a childcare reimbursement?
Subsidized childcare on site would be the dream. WFH as needed 😁
Everything that’s been said above + a culture that encourages my male colleagues to also take parental leave
Yes! This is so important.
Meetings that are actually as long as they’re supposed to be so I can confidently pump, 6 months paid maternity, part/flex time opportunities for the first year back, child care on site (subsidized would be dreamy).
1 year mat leave. Also working an actual 9-5 job. And less overnight travel.
A firm public policy on mom time being a priority for everyone. This includes; pumping time being public in your calendar so people respect it with meetings, the option to come back on 4 days for the first 6 months, adjusted start and end time to enable the daycare drop off or pick up, being able to guilt
free opt out of pitches or work trips, support and counselling, 6 months paid maternity leave but 9-12 months job protection if you choose to take
more time, 3 months paternity leave (at least!), childcare contributions or a prearranged partnership with a daycare to ease the process of looking for one (eg snapchat have one with bright horizons). I think it’s just about treating parenting like the life changing event that it is and supporting people though it as they give you all of their time and energy through the working day. The harder it is, the worse it is for them and their ability to do the job.
stop trying to make me feel guilty for taking PTO, and stop establishing deadlines that keep.me from taking it.
