What makes more money IT Audit or IT GRC?
Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

I just say the industry…then the company…then if they keep asking then I tell them process improvement or risk management. I work for GS IA now and the conversation always shifts to something about GS in the news.
Haha good point. I imagine if you say you work at Goldman people immediately think your a rich or a heartless investment banker
I’m work at Deloitte in internal audit, where I work with clients to identify compliance issues, risks, fraud within their organization.
I always just say "I'm a Financial Risk Management Consultant"
“I work at an accounting firm” lol and I leave it at that. If they’re in the corporate world I’ll elaborate a bit more but that usually ends the conversation hahaha
I do the company name too. Then if they want to know what I do there then I say Internal Audit. Most of the time people just take that as it is, but if they want to know more, it becomes a conversation.
Do people generally know your company name or do you just say the general industry of the company?
I mention the company name, then say I help
Companies be more efficient and help them find and their fix issues.
Straight to the point. I like it
I say something along the lines of "I work at a consulting firm doing information security risk assessments and compliance work to help companies find and fix vulnerabilities." I typically try to not say "Deloitte" or "internal audit."
