A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

You should have a list of questions that you take into the interview. Things that you need to know about the role. Some good questions are: how do you measure success in this role? Are there any other company culture expectations not listed in the job description? What are the company wide goals over the next 1,3,5 years and how do you see this role helping to achieve those goals? At the very least you should ask what the time frame is for making their decision, what the next steps in the interview process would be, ideally when are they wanting this person to start, when you should expect to hear back, what else can I do to secure this position and/or prepare for the next step. let them know that you’d like to send some thank you letters to those that interviewed you and ask for a card if they haven’t provided you one.
I always say yes, but I also ask a bunch of questions throughout. I view interviews more as conversations than interrogations
I see your point, but IMO interviewers can get some of this necessary additional info about you through thoughtful questions. You can demonstrate your understanding of the role/industry and apply your unique perspective accumulated from your previous experiences when framing a question or even proposing a solution to something they mentioned
I sit on the other side of the table at times. Show you really understand the role through some thoughtful questions. Ask about some of the recent deals the team has worked on referencing deals you are aware of have researched. Show you have done your homework, slip in messages about yourself.
Or ask a question about something the interviewer has told you about their background. Personal: if the person has not been with the place for their entire career: how long have you been here, what was your background? What was different than you thought when you joined? People like to talk about themselves. It gives you insights for the next interview.
Think also of this: you are interviewed by someone who spent their entire career with the firm and someone who joined more recently. You pick this up in the interview. You ask both of them leading questions and see what they respond...
Just please don’t ask some random question because you want to ask one. And don’t say you have no questions.
Can you tell me about how the company lives and breathes it’s values day in and day out?
