Interviewing at PwC for a Salesforce role, but apparently I have to join a specific vertical (healthcare). Just wondering if I would be exposed to ALL healthcare projects or just healthcare/Salesforce?

I actually worked in the SFDC HIA practice at PwC. It’s more likely that you would be staffed on a different vertical and still on a Salesforce project than in the HIA vertical on a non-salesforce project. It’s very skill set / capability weighted when it comes to staffing opportunities - at least that’s how it was when I worked for PwC

Op: firm is flexible enough to meet your goals either way. It all depends on your network and how much quality work you deliver in the past, and who you work with. Our go to market strategy model is heavily aligned to industries than competencies so you will have opportunity to work with industry leads . So they can pull you into whatever they work.

Partners are heavily incentivized to staff people on engagements in their vertical. Cross vertical work used to be way more common, but now I’d say it’s more of an exception. Not impossible, we have staffing dire needs that pull people cross vertical, but folks will do their best to not let it happen

Interesting, I would actually prefer other types of projects within the industry to branch out of Salesforce

Out of curiosity did you apply or did they reach out to you?

They reached out

Likely just Salesforce... heard that’s the case. sometimes you’ll be the only ‘real’ SF person in a project.

In the recruiter interview I wasn’t asked where I live. The job is with a huge sports wear company in Los Ángeles and I live in Miami. Does not living in the same city not make the hiring manger want to hire you even though I would move to the jobs location ASAP? And if they ask where I live do I say I live in their city? Even though I don’t and it’s a contract position.

I am an entry level nuclear engineer at an established nucl co. (been w them for 1.5y) and feel like I’m being underpaid for my role (73k/y). I was just contacted about interviewing for an entry level technician role at a different co., which compared to an engineer would be a step down imo. However, this role pays over 5k what I’m currently making (~79k/y). Do I ask for a raise to match this or consider the other role? Or Is there a different solution here?

Hi everyone,

I spent 2 years at McK in Asia, currently doing in-house strategy at a bank. I am hoping to return to consulting, targeting ME region, especially Dubai and Doha.

Exchanged some email with a McK recruiter, but haven’t heard back since I sent them my CV.

1. Is there a hiring freeze in ME at McK?
2. Is anyone willing to refer for BCG or Bain?

How do you advocate for a "level" promotion in a company that has vague unofficial descriptions of levels? I'm doing L4-5 (on standard levels, or L3 within our system) work but can't get away from the unofficial "L2".

Making 140k with 7 yrs experience in this role, and 12 prior years experience in Systems Engineering roles. I know someone on my team is at 180k with a similar career.

Fighting with my manager atm on definitions of levels and feel like its a red herring.

I’m a female who lives with my SO. We’ve been dating for years and we fight a lot so it’s possible a breakup is near. In other words, would a man be uninterested in a woman who’s living with her ex (but of course being appropriate after the breakup)?
