(1/2)Has anyone ever had their contract end early with no warning? I was hired as an “agile social designer” for a big box retailer as a freelancer. The gig posting said it was a couple months (until the end of june) but when I interviewed they said they were actually gonna extend me until next February. Anyways now they’re saying the whole agile team may be eliminated and I didn’t get any new work assigned this week… I’m kind of freaking out bc I thought I’d at least have until next month.

Trying to explain to my non consulting friend that your salary can climb by 60k easily in 4 years. Please share your experiences of this guys (more examples the better)

Hi all! I recently finished my Masters in Biology. I worked on a few studies with human subjects as well as animal work. I am hoping to get a job in clinical research as either a CRC or CRA. I previously worked at a doctors office as a care manager for 4 years, but outside of my academic work I don’t have experience in research. After a long and extensive interview process (2 months & 12 rounds of interviews) I finally heard back that they are very interested in offering me the job. My Current base is $135k (in NJ) and my ask is $180K (in NYC). But base comp ceiling for the position grade is $165k and they are willing to offer one time payment to make up for the gap between the offer & the ask. Any thoughts? The role has very upward potential in next couple of years.

What are other comp elements I can negotiate? Thx!
