Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

It went well and i am hoping for a positive response.
Want to know how much should I expect Or at what pkg should I negotiate with them.
I am thinking of proposing 13-15 LPA negotiable.

Don’t go to SF unless you’re making 160 plus. From what I’ve heard it’s the top 3 most brutally expensive places to live in the US.
Not to mention coming from Texas? You don’t pay state income taxes to the highest state income tax in the country plus all the other extremely high taxes. I’d consider that strongly.

I live in texas. I will def not move to California unless i made like 400k
SO and I each make about $105k living in SF, and we do pretty well. Just bought a condo, so I'd say $400k is more than you need.

Idk about if that rate is a good offer but to speak to those saying SF is hard to live in without more, it’s true, but not impossible. If you’re willing to budget for food and shop around for a good spot (even without a roommate), 100k is doable assuming no loans and car payments. I’m at 100 and I’m still able to max my 401k. Giving up the guac add ons and making my own food and cocktails at home tho. It honestly has built character and discipline. before I was living with parents and ordering delivery every day and gaining weight. All of that weight is gone now. Making your own food also requires shopping. Whole Foods is right next door, but I need to make longer trip to Trader Joes and Costco which is an inconvenience but certainly not undoable.
