Sounds legit
Depends of experience and whether you have a graduate degree
Negotiating the bonus is easier, but far less beneficial to you. Negotiate base >>>>> bonus IMO.
How much do you make now?
4 years of experience and a non MBA masters, 105k current
Do it
Should I negotiate higher? I wonder what is the ceiling?
The worst they can tell you is no right? Go for it if you want to negotiate $10k more or more of a signing bonus!
With experienced hires they negotiate. So go for it, but be reasonable. W MBA hires out of bskool they don’t. Go for it. Bonus range is 0-20%ish...expect 10-15% on average since top 5% or so get the max bonus.
But all that said, 120k is good for exp hire, but does not put you on par w MBA sr consultant salary.
(And Deloitte does not equate your non-MBA degree to MBA, so that argument won’t work)
What is MBA Sr consultant salary like?? Let's say for the same posn
Given how competitive it is out there, if you went to a top 7 or top 10 B-school,135-150K base and 20-40K signing bonus was the norm 2 years ago (from what I remember based on my conversations with partners). It should be about the same these days. Your location also matters.
OP guess what . I received the same offer as you at 120k but I negotiated for 5k bonus . My current Salary is at 105k as well. I think that’s their “standard” formula. I consider myself lucky to get this offer that’s why I didn’t negotiate the base, I just negotiated the bonus .
Where are you based out of ?
Thanks for the replies everyone. I would also rather negotiate base instead of sign on bonus, but I guess I will take whatever extra I get.
Based in NYC.
Ask for 30k on your current salary
Yes this sounds good. Current SC with similar bckgnd.
@OP out of curiosity, what was your masters in? I’m in AIM and definitely want to hop on some AAE projects
