I once had an Uber driver who wouldn’t stop talking. I had to choke him. Dealing w the cops after that was a little stressful
I’ll take 5000 for things that did not happen
Newark to SFO every week for nearly six years. It was brutal.
KPMG4 is probably:
A. a know-nothing twenty-something
B. single
C. childless
D. a drug addict
E. Any or All of the Above
Not mine, but my mom commuted from Philly to NYC everyday for 3 years back in the 90s before cell phones and internet. I guess people read the paper and talked to each other? Very brutal.
Gotcha. It’s been awhile since I looked into it (I’m based in DC), but it’s crazy that things have gotten that out of control in NY. Probably more bearable now than it was back then since you can do work/stream/etc. on the train, but still.
One time I graduated college and decided to live with my parents and then I got put on a project and it took me 2.5 hours to get there for like half a year—I had to drive 20 mins to take a bus 45 mins to the metro and then metro into the city—I had to perfectly articulate which time to catch the metro because the buses to where my car was parked came only every 45 minutes and this one day it was raining and from the metro I see the bus waiting at the stop (it’s 5:47 and leaves at 5:48) and I sprinted from the metro and then as it was driving away sprinted after it down the street and I tripped and fell and cut my leg and it was bleeding but I had to wait another 45 minutes for the next bus. Then I moved to the city. The end.
Every day is a burden
For past 11 years, I get up from breakfast table, walk 1 flight of stairs and plop into my comfy office chair.
Uber driver aggressive sharing their political views because they had it on Fox News Radio. He then shared why Trump is the best candidate and debated every person that got on the Uber Pool. I had a 45 min commute..... With no headphones
I think I’ve had this driver
Flying from Chicago to New Orleans. 5:30 am flight, Monday morning:
- take off on time from Chicago
- holding pattern above NOLA, too foggy to land
- run low on reserve fuel, have to head to Houston
- don't deplane, refuel and shoot back to NOLA
- Holding pattern again
- run low on reserve fuel, have to head back to Houston
- get to deplane and eat
- get back on plane to get to NOLA
- Try to land once, but visibility too poor, plane pulls up and comes back again for landing
*Successful landing*
- BONUS: someone a few rows up takes my carry on with them off the plane on accident. Have to purchase toiletries / change of clothes in NOLA
NY to NJ 1:45 mins one way for the past 2 years 🥴
Maybe it’s time to do some audio books to learn a new skill...
Pumping breast milk on my way home from the office and got pulled over for not properly wearing my seat belt... so obviously he noticed what I was doing if he noticed my lack of seat belt. The officer never got closer than my rear door bc he wasn’t sure if I was decent (I barely was). I had the belt on, but the shoulder strap was wrapped behind my back. I showed him that it was buckled and just needed to be pulled on. He goes “oh ok, thanks well please wear it properly. Just a warning, be safe.” I’ve never seen an officer that uncomfortable. And the icing on the cake: in my panic to put myself together before he approached me, I spilled most of the milk that I had just pumped 😭😭😭
#workingmomlife #thestruggleisreal
People who say don't cry over split milk have never had to pump for a hungry baby.
No stories to add, just here for comments !
One night on my way home from NYC to CT on the Metro North, I was on a crowded train car sitting between a couple of very drunk guys who were still drinking. They were pleasant/ friendly at first but eventually one of them started aggressively hitting on me. At one point he even put his hands on me. The train was so crowded that I felt trapped. It got so bad that his friend encouraged me to get off the train a couple stops early and have my husband come pick me up, which I did.
BAH2, you hiring? 😂
NYC checking in....Same day, two different subway trains:
AM: homeless lady clipping her toe nails
PM: guy jacking off on the 5pm train
Average 1-way commute to the office takes 1hr and 20 min. One morning had to be at the client-site at 7:30, so naturally I left the house at 5:30 am. That morning we were practically hit with a monsoon and the main highway into the city housed a massive crash that caused a 5-car backup, so I was trying to GPS a new route to the client location while simultaneously dialing remotely to the call to at least semi-ammend for being late due to the crashes and weather. Had a blast squinting through the downpour and navigating through basically a complex forest of streets where accurate signs apparently weren't a thing, all the while maintaining my poise while presenting on the call and muting/un-muting my phone whenever the GPS decided to scream the next set of directions so the client wouldn't sense how chaotic everything actually was 🤦#It'sFineI'mFine #WhoSaidConsultingWasStressful #ItWillBeFunTheySaid
I worked in Rhode Island and would take a redeye from SF to Boston every Sunday night. One night I decided to take an edible so I could sleep and woke up in Boston high af. I had to commute 45 min to RI and then spent all day in design workshops. No one noticed but I was definitely in struggle city.
I’ve been there! Sometimes you underestimate these edibles
Woman next to me on the plane peed her seat right before taking off for a 5 hour flight...
This happened to me as well!! I was so weirded out and annoyed!!!!!!
Later found out she was suffering from UTI :(
Flying back from Sydney and person next to me and behind me coughing the whole time #coronavirus
One time I was on the DC metro when we had to hold for a “fire ahead”. The train conductor said it so casually. And no we didn’t deboard. Just casually sat until the fire was clear.
So another Tuesday
Got all the way to the office and realized I had my personal laptop not my work laptop.. had to uber home and back to make my first meeting in time 😐
You’re supposed to just stay home after that.
Took an edible before ubering an hour to the airport. My driver spoke zero english and drove a beater minivan at 100mph hitting every pothole along the way. We almost died, twice. All this while tripping balls and getting sick to my stomach. Crazy times
