I'm on a long term project (likely to continue on in perpetuity) and the relationship among team members is getting kind of crazy. A lot of stress seems to be building up among partners. I'm the senior associate assisting in the management of all workflows. My tasks are complete and accurately executed, but things are getting super toxic lately. Has anyone successfully disarmed a bomb like this? It's getting a bit wild and my next move is to try lateraling if this toxicity keeps increasing.

I am currently a year from finishing my PhD and was looking at VC's as a career path because I like to do meta-analysis of different climate change techs. I networked with VCs and one of them was receptive but didn't have the budget currently for a full time hire. They said they'd be interested in working with me to do a research paper over the coming semester, and was wondering if I could leverage this into a full time offer?

Has anyone experienced a Director who does not communicate properly and then blames their team for their own lack of communication and gives contradictory feedback? What can I do to avoid getting thrown under the bus for something I was incorrectly briefed on. And yes this Director is a woman. She acts very fake and nice to me but when it comes to HR she's very fast to blame me for something I activated that she never updated me on the client strategy. Has anyone experienced anything similar any advice? I'm puzzled why she is so quick to throw me under the bus and set me up for failure instead of properly communicating with me and the team underneath her.

Mental health related: how do you “give yourself closure”?

My ex broke off our engagement last October. I have done a lot of reflection, growing, even did a few months of therapy, etc. Our relationship ending devastated me, but I look back now and feel like I dodged a bullet in many ways. Has anyone had a background check done by HireRight recently? Did they send you a notification when it was complete? I have an offer letter contingent on passing background and drug test so I haven’t put in my notice to my current employer but the contingent start date is May 17.
