At Amazon, what is the difference between a Program Manager and Technical Program Manager? It looks like the Technical one gets paid about 25% more but not sure what roles/responsibilities they do differently. Amazon
Also how technical a background does someone need for a Technical Program Manager role?

I wouldn't join unless your company is willing to pay for the membership fees. It's really not worth the money and time unless you can just access the resources for free. I do think if I were a better networker I would go to more of the events though, so I'm sure there is more I could be doing to make it worth it. (My company pays for mine)
If you are willing to put the time and want to meet other people in marketing. But for the most part if you don't want to take up on an extra "part time" , maybe no
I have been a part of it and I didn't find it to be all that valuable for the price you pay. Like Marketing Manger 1 said above if your company is paying for it then I would definitely do it but if you are paying for it on your own I probably wouldn't. Although you could do it for a year and see if you think it is worth it or not.
I am and no
If it’s ok with you, could you go into why?
I am a member and took the time (and money) to obtain one of their certifications. I don’t think it’s worth joining. I found the webinars rudimentary, the fees high, and no one seemed to be overly impressed with my credential / it hasn’t even come up and kinda falls at the bottom of my resume now.
Never heard of em
Like others have said AMA is not worth joining IMO. As a PMM, the Product Marketing Alliance is a much better community for PMM related topics
AMA is broad marketing, PDX AMA is the exposure I have and the events or workshops are more general Marketing, leaning toward creative which is a small part of PMM work.
