I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. I got an offer with TCS and initially selected joining date as Jan 2.. but current org released me in 1 month instead of 3 months.. I asked TCS HR and others for early Onboarding but they didn't respond well..

In a perfect world how much would you want to make a year to both pay off your loans and live a good life? I think I'd need to make upwards of $200k to pay off my loans, take care of my family and live a fulfilling life.

Not mad that student loans being paused means I can use the money for Christmas. Are you still making payments during the pause? Or are you saving the money for something else. My christmas present to myself is a spa day!
