Is being in sales really as lucrative as people make it sound? Or are there very specific fields where all the money is in? I know for a fact that tech sales has a lot of money in it because my cousin is in the field and he's living in a 4 million dollar house in California. I don't need to get that ric,h but I'd like a glimpse of that life.

As for how lucrative sales really is, it can be very rewarding but it often depends on the industry and your role. Tech sales, like your cousin’s job, tends to pay well because of the high value of the products and services they sell. Other fields might not have the same earning potential unless you climb the ladder or work on commission-heavy deals. So yes, there are definitely specific areas where sales pays big, but it takes time, skill, and sometimes a bit of luck to get there.

It can be VERY lucrative. My brother was in sales and he was really good at it and making tons of money. I honestly think it depends on the product you are selling and the price point.

Anyone else super unimpressed with administrative support with a new firm after lateraling? I told a partner I’d just take care of a routine task myself. I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. “Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.
