is biometric appointment for h4 COS also adding to delays for h4 COS and EAD? or we can schedule an appointment as soon as COS is applied? someone told me it’s taking 2 years these days for h 4 ead approval 1 year for h4 cos another year wait time for biometric and few months for ead is that true? From what i read and understood it takes around 12 months for entire process including biometric

Are initial law firm consultations usually free? I’m on H1B and wanted to schedule an initial consultation with an immigration lawyer to discuss some GC options (outside of employment based) and was told I’d have to pay $200 for a consultation (45 mins session).

Am I being cheap for not wanting to pay that or are there firms out there that offer free consultations?
