I’ve been off my last billable project for about a month, but my firm has had me putting in full days to work on important internal initiatives and business development that are being taken very seriously, and that include deadlines, etc. very similar to the work I’d do while on a project. Is it likely I’ll be laid off if this continues for another couple of months? How long do you think my firm might let me stay employed like this if they continue to have this much non-billable work for me?
Laid off bc of lack of work, told I have a few weeks to find a new job BUT have been getting assigned new projects since then. Wtf do I do?
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
Got laid off but found a job. Unfortunately I can’t start for like 2 months. Any ideas on jobs I could do in the meantime? Can’t drive so no Uber. Willing to do minimum wage, anything will help
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
I am in a situation where my group is about to be laid off. I have not interviewed for 8 years and never in the US. I consider myself extremely talented in the tech field and have contributed to many well used libraries and frameworks but I can’t even get an interview anywhere I apply. Are there any resources to get feedback on what I’m doing wrong?
It's kinda bullshit that a lot of us worked hard to get into consulting and now have to deal with layoffs. While others are enjoying safe decent paying jobs even though they slack off.
What circumstances have to apply for you to get fired on the spot for getting a job with another big four firm?
Is it common practice in Singapore for firms to have a probation period for new joiners (duration at their discretion), during which new joiners can be fired at a week’s notice period?
is it better to quit before getting fired ? is getting fired that big of a deal - need some perspective from more experienced colleagues thanks
If a firm (for e.g. PwC with MF Global) loses a pending law suit, are layoffs inevitable?
KPMG announced no 2020 layoffs, but at this point, has any other firm provided this or a similar plan forward to protect employees during these times?
How do you tell management above you that you hate all of them with the fire of a thousand suns without getting fired?
Hello CGI folks ..I have got selected in Capgemini...All I am getting to hear is that chances of being laid off are quite high in CGI..So, I am confuséd whether I should join or stay back in my current company...please advise
Turned in my resignation today and it felt great. To the fish out there that are still searching - lots of love and luck. And if you can, try to stick it out without getting fired for a job (cont'd)
OW 🐠, how is the culture? Do you travel a lot? Is it common to work on strategy projects or is it more likely to be staffed on implementation?
EY 🐠 - Are there any issues with dad's taking the full 16 weeks for parental leave? It says primary care givers only. Thanks!
Anyone heard or experienced traveling to and from India from the US on Qatar Airways? Have been seeing online that certain people (such as B1/B2 visa holders) weren’t allowed to board the flight from India. FYI I’ve a stamped H1B visa. Any inputs are appreciated.
I came across an internal role at BCG platinion which is in line with my asset and wealth management background. I would really appreciate if someone is willing to discuss and refer me.
Is it normal for companies to schedule more rounds of interviews with you after the on-site?
What do I say if a recruiter is refusing to tell me the salary budget for the role I'm interviewing for? They keep asking me for a number, but I keep asking what they value the role at and what their budget is, which they aren't willing to disclose until I give a number. 🤷🏻 What do I do??
Does anyone else sometimes fantasize about being involuntarily transitioned...? Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful for my job esp now— it’s a privilege for sure. I’m just so unhappy and exhausted, and haven’t had the headspace to think through how I want to exit. Sometimes I think I want the decision made for me... then I’d feel less guilty about focusing my energy in looking for exit opps.
Hey guys, which country/city are you’ll booking H1-B visa stamp appointment dates? Are you getting any appointments for this year?
Anyone have a contact at Publicis Seattle? I’d love to intern there this Summer for Strategy.
Accepted an offer for a MM in FDD, but my current employer is offering 15k to stay, and will transfer me to the service line I desire (I have it in writing). Base is 10k more, and benefits and exits better at B4. Any reason not to stay? Not looking forward to reneging but seems like an easy decision
I recently passed the CFE and was looking into the CAMS next. Any suggestions on how to best prepare for the CAMS? I’ve been mostly reviewing the index cards that come with the prep material.
HBS/GSB grads that returned to your T2 firms, was it difficult to see your peers exit to “more prestigious” opportunities?
What’s the Kpmg match for 401k?
I'm renting co-working space for a remote job in a building specializing in providing startups with dynamically sized workspace. Our county, city, and the building owners themselves all have mask mandates in place for individuals regardless of vax status. I've reported most of the people on the floor to the building admin for violating the mandates multiple times. How many more until I should escalate to the city?
I wonder what this means for return to office plans.
Is the prestige/brand of BCG only in your immediate exit or later too? Put differently, if I leave for an average exit now, will I still get the outreach I do currently and be able to get a great exit later?
Hey I am a Software Engineer with a experience of around 3 years. I am looking for a switch to a Data Engineer position. Any refferals would help. Referal from Rakuten , Tredence , Tiger Analytics, Lowe's , Legato , GE and other healthcare and Data Analytics will be helpful for me. Thank you
